2010 All Star Try Outs

Will be announced when we are able to release them

2010 All-Star Eligibility Form

The eligibility form below is for players in our league who would like to be considered for all star selection. You will need

to print it, and fill it out and return it to your manager at your next game. If your child does not want to

be considered then no action is necessary on your part.

Please remember when filling out the form DO NOT include any vacation information as this is the reason we use these forms, either your child can commit or not.....WE DO EXPECT players that check "eligible"

to be able to attend all  practices and games....let's be fair and honest so no player is excluded.

Shelton American All Star Selection Guidelines

  • All star eligibility forms will be distributed to all age appropriate players families.

  • Shelton American “usually’ has 4 all star teams; 11-12 district 3, 10-11 district 3, 9-10           district 3, and 9 yr old local tournament team.

  • Shelton American will choose the teams using a combination of criteria.

  • Players on the major division teams will vote for the 10 players in the 10, 11, 12 yr old         age groups that they feel should be on an all star team.

  • The top 10 “vote getters” in each age group will be awarded a spot on their age appropriate   all star team.

  • Any player placed on a higher level all star team (i.e. a 10 yr old on the 11 yr old team etc.) will be at the discretion of the president and player agent with input considered by the team manager. Votes will be   tallied by the league president and player agent.

  • Try-outs will be conducted for all players aged 9 thru 12.

  • Evaluation teams will be used (as set up by league president and player agent) and players  will be evaluated based on ability and availability.

  • Player evaluations will be averaged by the president and player agent and players will           be assigned an ability rating.

  • Managers and coaches will be selected by the president and player agent based on availability and regular season performance with regard to player development, baseball knowledge,       and ability to manage the players on their teams to maximize results with regard to talent.    (It is never a “given” that someone that managed an all star team the previous year             is automatically going to manage the following year.

  • We strive to do what’s best for our league and “all” it’s players)

  • Managers selected for all star competition will be consulted with regard to the remaining players selected to the respective teams. All final selections will be made with the approval of the president and player agent with the emphasis being on the player evaluation ratings and role as it pertains to the leagues philosophies.

  • All Star teams cannot be announced before June 15th
