SALL 2010 - Major Division Rules & Regulations 

 

1. Pitch Count (new 2010 rules)

  

    Maximum pitch count (10 yr olds – 75 pitches & 11-12 yr olds 85 pitches)

    

    1-20   pitches -   no days rest

    21-35 pitches -   1 days rest     

    36-50 pitches -   2 days

    51-65 pitches –  3 days rest

    66 or more –      4 days rest

2.  A pitcher once is removed from the mound the pitcher may not pitch again in the same   

     game or in another game the same day

 

3.  A player who has thrown more than 40 pitches on a given day may not be utilized as a

     catcher for the rest of that day. (Catcher can pitch)

 

4.  6 inning games (a new inning will not begin past 7:50pm during the week; time

     limits will be followed on the weekends)

 

5.  Minimum play is 3 defensive innings (2 consecutive) and 1 at bat, substitution rules must  

     be followed (rule 3.03)

 

6.  Base coaches will be 2 adults.

 

7.  Stealing is allowed

 

8.  Games during the week shall begin no later than 6:00 and a new inning will not start after

     1hr 50mins have been played, or no later than 7:50 whichever comes first.

 

9.  Saturday games will begin as scheduled and a new inning will not start after 1 hour 50

     minutes have been played.

 

10.  Good sportsmanship is a MUST. No questioning judgment calls of umpires. If a book rule  

      is misinterpreted by the umpire (i.e.: infield fly), with agreement from both coaches, and it

      can be reversed please do so immediately. If not, the call stands. Riding the Umpire by

      either coaches or players will not be tolerated.

 

11. Special pinch runners can be used in accordance with Little League rule book.

 

12. Catcher's Courtesy Runner: when there are two (2) out and the catcher is on base,

      a courtesy runner is allowed.  However the substitute runner must be the player

      who made the 2nd out.

 

13.  Managers will make out a snack bar parent work assignment list

      (1 parent from each team) provide copy to snack stand by 1st game.

 

14.  Field preparation will be the responsibility of both teams as well as raking home

      plate and the pitchers mound after your games. (see field duties sheet)

 

15.  Home team is the official scorer and is responsible for reporting the score, a press

      release and all pitchers and innings pitched to Major League director after game by

      email.

 

    

**There will be NO negotiation of the rules before or during the game**

** ALL players are to be rotated between the infield and outfield during the game**

**Make sure ALL players get the required playing time**

**Please remember the league is for the KIDS**

 

All other rules will be Little League book rules
