It's time!!!!! The 2012 season for
Shelton American will begin with player evaluations...
Evaluation day is Saturday March 3rd!!!
Evaluations will be held at Triple Play in Trumbull.
(www.tripleplayct.com).
They will be as follows; 4:30pm for players league
age 8 and 9 (as of April 30,2012). This year,
thanks to changes in Little League's regulations, 8 year
olds may be eligible for AAA play depending on their
evaluations. Players that are 8 and do not choose to
be evaluated will be placed in our coach pitch program
(no pleas by parents will be considered as those who
do follow the rules will have a chance to
move up and the integrity of the process can be upheld).
5:30pm for players league age 10-12 (that are NOT
already on a Major league roster). Those players
not already on a major roster, based on
their evaluation, will be eligible to be drafted onto a
major team. All 12 year olds not already on a major
roster WILL be on a major roster whether they are
evaluated or not (Little League mandate) but we prefer
to see them to help with balancing our teams.
I realize people are
busy, however, we cannot run the league based on
individual schedules. We have 1 evaluation day,
please make the effort to put it on your calendar NOW
and commit to having your child there at his/her
assigned time. Individual evaluations after the fact
cannot be accommodated so please don't ask. We only ask
for an hour of your time for your child's proper
division placement!
If your posture is "it's only little league" then please
do not bash the league for trying to make the process
fair and enjoyable for your child...we are only trying
to deliver a positive experience.
Please email us with any questions (except the one that
states you cannot make it is there another way; because
the answer has to be "no" as no one player is more
important than the league). We try our best but can only
do so much..
